"New Jerusalem" at the Comparaisons salon in Paris

This year, at the Comparaisons Salon in Paris, I presented the painting "New Jerusalem" (2025, oil on canvas, 190 x 130 cm). "New Jerusalem" is a vision that lies between ruin and promise. Below lies a city as fragile as memory – ancient Jerusalem, marked by time and history, destroyed by Titus in 70 AD. Above it rises a cloud, described in the Apocalypse by St. John: "The Holy City descends out of heaven from God, adorned as a bride." On this cloud rise ethereal temples that for centuries have been a stony cry to eternity: the dome of St. Peter's, the luminous Hagia Sophia, Notre Dame with its soaring spire, the golden arches of San Marco, the unfinished Sagrada Familia. These are not just buildings – they are signs of humanity's longing for a City where "death will be no more." The painting combines transience and the eschaton, history and promise. The New Jerusalem is built not of stone, but of faith – and its foundation is hope. Thank you to everyone who stopped by my painting, talked, and took photos.
